One Love SoulFolk...It´s been a while since I´ve kinnected with the peoples & the presence of DC. I am on my way back now from Mexico & Hawai'i. I´ve been doing some necessary travelling, souljourning, and researching. There is much to share, with those willing to receive, about our collective (un)conscious and interdependent destiny as it relates to the Olmec/Mayan/Dogon Natural Time science & prophecies. The DC flag itself is comprised of the Mayan notation for the number 13. All signs point to this being the Time of Restoration --- rebalancing the feminine & masculine energies --- as within, so without. Lookin´ 4ward to sharing once again with all y'all. We are the Ones We´ve Been Waiting 4.

Sorry to hit you in the head with this, but I am on a mission to let as many people know as I possibly can!!!!

IF PEOPLE CONTINUE TO SUPPORT STYLE WARZ AND ITS HOST/PROMOTER/DJ (P-FUNK) you are totally disrespecing those of us that are really involved in the Hip Hop MOVEMENT!!!! HE IS NOT
WORTHY OF ANYTHING...LET ALONE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.
*

HE OWES ME MONEY (& NOT A SMALL AMOUNT) AND WON'T PAY ME WHAT I CAN PROVE I AM OWED! PLEASE BELIEVE ...HE WILL DO THE SAME THING TO YOU IF YOU LET HIM.

I CHOSE TO WALK AWAY FROM
STYLE WARZ BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO DISRUPT THE PROGRESS THE SCENE
HAD BEEN MAKING. IF I WOULD HAVE GIVEN HIM WHAT HIS HAND CALLED FOR....WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. HE AND HIS PARTNER ALREADY
ACCUSED AND WERE READY TO SEND ONE INNOCENT PERSON TO PRISON. I ALWAYS KNEW I'D MOVE ON....& WITH A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF WORK...THE UPDATED STYLE WARZ COULD HAVE GONE ON TO BECOME A BALTIMORE
INSTITUTION....BUT NOW.....
*
IT HAS TO COME TO AN END.....
*
I TOOK THIS BIG ASS L LIKE A WOMAN....I WAS NOT ENTITLED TO ANY DIGNITY IN LEAVING AND NOW THIS.......ITS TIME FOR ME TO FIGHT BACK!!!!
*
I GAVE THIS MAN 2 MONTHS TO G-OFF (ON SOMETHING I BUILT).....& NOW HE IS GOING TO MAKE ME HAVE TO TAKE HIM TO COURT....WHAT IS IT????....I
THINK "THEM" PEOPLES LIKE COURT HOUSES.
*
NONE OF THIS IS SLANDEROUS BECAUSE ITS ALL TRUE!!!! &....... I AM PREPARED TO PROVE IT. HE IS NOT A BUSINESS MAN.....IF YOU KEEP ON GIVING HIM YOUR MONEY YOU STAND FOR NOTHING. HIS KIND DON'T LAST
SO.....THINK ABOUT WHO YOU ALIGN YOUR SELVES WITH. THERE WILL BE 3 NEW HIP HOP EVENTS STARTING SOON.....ONE IN JULY AND TWO IN AUGUST!!!
THERE WILL BE SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE AT ALL SKILL LEVELS. PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE! IT TAKES TIME TO GET THINGS CRACKIN...BUT I AM
BACK...VERSION 2.0!

BIG UPS TO MY PEOPLES THAT RECOGNIZE WHAT'S REAL!!!
*
Don't end up saying, "she told me so"

please refer to my blog www.itsbaltimorebaby.com for a photo

ESTHER PRODUCTIONS, INC. SPONSORS FREE
SCREENWRITING AND POETRY WORKSHOPS
FOR DISTRICT YOUTH

Youths ages 11 through 15 who live in underserved communities in Wards 1, 2 and 8 are being treated to eight weeks of free courses in screenwriting and poetry. The workshops are being held at the Emergence Community Arts Collective on Euclid Street NW and Johenning Baptist Church Community Center on Ninth Street SE. Registration is required but plenty of space is still available.

Award-winning writers Nigel Parkinson, Jr. and Bomani Armah lead the workshops. Each has received wide recognition for his artistic accomplishments, and both live in the District of Columbia.

In addition to learning how to write a screenplay using their own personal experiences, participants in the workshop will see at least one of their works produced for television. Participants in the poetry classes will have their writings published this fall in a chapbook and will be provided the opportunity to perform their works in several venues throughout the District.

Several professional fiction writers and poets also will give community readings throughout the eight weeks as part of the program.

The workshops are sponsored by Esther Productions, Inc., a two-year old nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. and dedicated to serving the social, cultural, and economic needs of underserved or at-risk communities. Esther Productions, Inc. offers a variety of programs including management-training seminars for individuals and emerging companies and The National Daughter-Daddy Reunion Tour.

Esther Productions, Inc.'s Summer Literary Series 2006 is funded through generous grants and contributions from the D.C. Sports and Entertainment Commission, the Greater Shaw Community Development Corporation, and Kojo Nnamdi of WAMU-FM radio.

i think the gnarls barkley album is awesome, for what that's worth. i'm really happy for cee-lo. he and dangermouse put together a great project. dangermouse apparently came up with the song concepts and cee-lo wrote lyrics to fit mouse's themes. sounds like an awesome way to work and the results are golden.

Yo, I can't wait for the next season of the Wire and it has been a pleasure being in the city that breeds it. Local talent on the screen and soundtrack, my lil brother getting a speaking part and me chilling with different members of the cast on several occasions. Idris(Stringer) a bunch of times (he like Nas better than Jay-Z-- don't argue with him his English accent comes out), Haas (We-Bay-- Henny drinker), Bubs who don't look like a dope fiend in real life, J.D. (Bodie) cool cat from Newark, Dominic-- not the star, McNulty but the other Dominic, the idiot white cop who happens to be a thuggish white republican from the Bronx (don't argue politics with him), Corey, don't remember his character name but he cool as hell and on my last birthday non other than Mike (the infamous Omar) was in the house and I was non-hesitant to give him a pound and hug and pose for a photo-- no-homo. Great cast great show. Ummm maybe I'm a lil biased.

Spirit, it's cool. I'm glad there was a choice to see different stuff that night and trust me the sistas and brothers brought it. We had plenty of folks in the spot checking the sistas rocking and Tanya Morgan. Just remember the names Tanya Morgan, Emoni Fela, Naima J, Stacy Epps, Emperess and the cut the check band as Head-Roc calls them. You can pick up any paper in the city and read how the sistas set FIRE too and Tanya Morgan is the next Tribe. Check tonight show out at The Red and Black, R & B Coffee on Saturday and Sunday, Nimat, Afi, Julie Dexter and Nicolay with many suprise guest coming through all night at the ESL. and hosted by Dub E. What a way to close out the festival. Check the website for the photos from Tuesday night.

the crux of the debate was limited to celluloid, at least on my side (and there can't be a crux of any debate unless the folks debating are revolving their argument around the same crux). you can argue with someone else about whether malcolm was positive, i was talking about the film CLEARLY.

As for the use of 'house negro' and whether it should be used, THAT does merit serious discussion, but it's an issue that's far broader than Malcolm and to limit discussion of the term to criticism of a man who was killed forty years ago for his efforts at seeking black liberation doesn't seem particularly productive to me (what a long sentence THAT was).

To Kimani: Sorry I missed Tanya Morgan. I rolled to see Slum, Ash, W, Bilal S, and the crew. They set it on FIRE.
