Esther Productions, Inc. launches Daughters’ Circle, a series of in school lectures.

Daughters’ Circle features authors and other experts who grew up without their fathers discussing the importance of daddies in girls’ lives. Much has been made about the importance of fathers to sons; but fathers are equally, if not more, important to their daughters. Participant will learn why. Further, they will have the opportunity to discuss their own relationships with their fathers and what they believe fathers bring to their daughters’ development into whole, healthy women. They will discuss what happens when fathers go absent, and they will examine the symptoms of the Fatherless Woman Syndrome. Daughters’ Circle, part of the Relationship Building and Outreach Project of The National Daughter-Daddy Reunion Tour, seeks to arrest and prevent problems associated with father absence including teen pregnancy, juvenile violence, and low academic achievement.

Daughters’ Circle is free. School officials interested in having an expert speak to their students and individuals interested in joining the support group may call 202.232.0780 or 232.0781. Please visit us at www.estherproductions.com

Yeah, I heard about the Sesto Senso thing after the fact, but what happened with the protest? I hope they got a foot in the ass...I've had many clubs tell me they don't make enough money from "our clientelle," even after we pack the place with customers that paid $5 at the door...hmmm.

Yo, Jabari, can I come too? Seriously, if anyone should take that voyage, it's you, my man. You better bring back photos and MUSIC.

Guerilla Arts -- We on a mission! | @ | url
Guerilla Arts is sponsoring a fundraiser to send OUR younger brother Jabari to West Africa. Many of you know Jabari is an integral part of the DC arts scene and from the group Hueman Prophets, he is an accomplished African percussionist, poet, actor, playwright, and emcee and has an independent music marketplace called Congo Square, ever-present at parties, conferences, festivals etc. Jabari has the opportunity to travel HOME with a local drumming troupe called Farafina Kan, and he needs $2,000 to make the trip happen. We couldn't think of a better candidate to do this for. He is the definition of a Guerilla Artist!

Jabari will be delivering a VSOP (very special one-time performance) of his Hip Hop Theatre piece, "Schizophrenia", featuring Hueman Prophets and Bilal Salaam.

DJ & other performances to be announced

We need everyone's support, even if you're just stopping thru. Spread the word!

Location: Cafe NEMA (1334 U St NW)
When: Saturday, October 28, 8:00pm
Phone: (202) 667-3215
Cost: $5 (proceeds will go directly toward Jabari's travel & expenses in Africa)

***Any and all additional donations will be rewarded as well***
